Rock For Ronnie Stand Up And Shout Against Cancer 2023 at Los Encinos Park to keep focus on Stomach Cancer awareness

The last event was 2019 and this year’s the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund (www.diocancerfund.org)  event minus the motorcycles was the first since the shutdown was on May 7 at Los Encinos Park, Encino, CA hosted by Radio & TV Personality Eddie Trunk. There were food trucks, raffles and silent auction with many exciting items available to bid on throughout the afternoon, while live auctions, featuring one-of-a-kind rock collectibles, will be held from the stage between artist performances.  A number of vendor booths will be offering unusual crafts and other items.

Ronnie James DIO while alive was and still an influence on his singing, music and animal lover and talking to fans after shows. And to bring together friends and to meet some musicians for this that this stomach cancer and all cancers affect us all.

This year’s lineup included: Charles Miller’s southern rock band that energized the crowd for the event who the crowd liked. Next was Atomic Punks, the Tribute to Early Van Halen performing some of the bands songs.

After them was STEAMROLLER featuring members of The Dead Daisies, Dio and Whitesnake (Doug Aldrich, Brian Tichy, Michael Devin), performing songs that included from Whitesnake and The Police.  Next was  Dio Disciples, comprising Simon Wright, Scott Warren, Bjorn Englen, Ira Black, Terry Ilous, Oni Logan and Dyna Shirasaki plus guest performer singer Ann Boleyn from Hellion. Songs were: Holy Diver, Mob Rules, Follow The Tears, Rainbow In The Dark, Man On The Silver Mountain, Heaven and Hell and We Rock.

At the end was an All Star Jam that included: Guitarists Ira Black (BulletBoys, Dio Disciples, Vio-lence); Chris Broderick, (In Flames, Act of Defiance, ex Megadeth); Phil Demmel (Vio-lence, Machine Head); Marc Ferrari (Keel); Keith Nelson (Buckcherry); Adrian Vandenberg (Whitesnake, Vandenberg); Brian Teachy, Ricky Warwick (Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders); Sean McNabb (Dokken, The Keef Richards); Doug Aldrich (Lion, Dio, WhitesnakeRudy); Rudy  Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Dio, Whitesnake); Mike Dupke (Wednesday 13, W.A.S.P.); Neil Turbin (Death Riders, Anthrax); bass players Robbie Crane (Black Star Riders, Ratt); Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai); Sean McNabb (Dokken, The Keef Richards); Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake); Marty O’Brien (Daughtry, Lita Ford); Dug Pinnick, (King’s X); Tosha Jones (Saliva); keyboard player Mike Mangan (The Cult).

Overall was a good event. Maybe there can be this event can be on the East cast and Midwest for those who can’t attend this event and with bands located at those locations and various Europe countries.
