Everclear kicks off their Sparkle and Fade 30th Anniversary Tour tonight (September 4th) in Los Angeles. They will perform at a sold-out show at The Regent Theater, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their platinum-selling debut album. Sparkle and Fade includes the hit “Santa Monica.” The 43-date tour features special guests Local H and Sponge.

“It’s been really hard to get my head around this. It’s been 30 years since the release of Sparkle and Fade,” shares Alexakis. “It’s also kind of mind-boggling to understand how much of an impact this album has had on my life. It has influenced the world around me. From what I hear from fans all over the world, it has had a significant impact on them too. Sparkle and Fade was not the first album I had made. It was the album I had wanted to make my whole life. It changed everything for me and Everclear. Because of its success and lasting impact, this band has survived and prospered for three decades. This tour is another way of us saying ‘thank you’ to all of the incredible fans – old and new. If you are a fan of this record, you do not want to miss this!”

Since forming in 1992, Everclear has enjoyed a lengthy career by any measure. Their career spans 11 studio releases. Four of these have been certified Gold or Platinum. They have sold over 6 million records. Everclear has achieved 12 Top 40 Hit Singles on Mainstream Rock, Alternative, and Adult Top 40 radio, including “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You A New Life,” “Wonderful” and “Everything To Everyone.” Additionally, they have numerous videos, thousands of shows, and various other accolades. Notably, they received a 1998 Grammy nomination. The band’s 1993 debut album, World Of Noise, came out on the Portland independent label Tim/Kerr Records. The band put in significant efforts to break into college radio. They also created a buzz within the Portland music scene, attracting the attention of major labels. Capitol Records noticed and signed the group soon after. The label released Sparkle and Fade. To celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary in 2022, Everclear reissued World Of Noise as a special remastered, deluxe edition. This made the album available for the first time on digital streaming platforms. Six bonus songs were added to the original 12 tracks. Adding to the celebrations that year, Everclear released a commemorative anniversary video “Everclear – 30 Years Gone: A Retrospective.” Matt Pinfield hosted the video. He is a former MTV VJ, current radio host, and longtime friend. PRESS HERE to watch.

In 2023, Everclear released their first official live album. The album, Live at The Whisky a Go Go, showcases the band’s acclaimed and energetic live performance. The 17-track collection is available via Sunset Blvd Records. It features the live recording of the Los Angeles show on Everclear’s 30th Anniversary Tour. The album includes hits and hidden treasures from throughout the band’s extraordinary catalog. It also has two new bonus studio tracks. One is Sing Away,” which is a powerful single addressing teen suicide. The other is their 2022 politically-charged single Year Of The Tiger.” Continuing to celebrate their acclaimed decades-long career and provide the band’s dedicated fanbase with long-awaited content, Everclear released their platinum-selling album Songs From An American Movie Vol. One on vinyl for the first time ever in 2024 via Intervention Records.

Alexakis, known for his extensive work with Everclear, released his debut solo album, Sun Songs, in 2019. That was the same year he announced his multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. He donates one dollar from every ticket sold for his performances. The funds go to charities like Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and National MS Society. At 63, he remains active, with Everclear’s legacy as a live band still thriving.
