Brantley Gilbert & Jelly Roll: Son of the Dirty South tour kicked off in Jacksonville, Florida on June 30th,
2022.

The evening started out hot, and just got hotter throughout the night on the “Son of The Dirty South” tour with non-other than country star Brantley Gilber..and up and coming rock and country star Jelly Roll. The brought along a special hometown girl Nicollettle Hayford…better well known as Pillbox Patti and they all brew the roof of the Dailys Place Ampitheater in Jacksonville Florida…
The opening band was a debut act, Nashville singer/ songwriter Nicolette Hayford who performed as
Pillbox Patti. She was fun and got the crowd warmed up. Her brightly colored outfit and pop country
sound reminded me a little of music artist Gwen Stefani. I was not very impressed with her cover of Billy
Ray Cyrus’ Achy Breaky Heart, but the rest of the songs had a good vibe.
Next to hit the stage was Jelly Roll. The crowd roared with cheers and screams of excitement. He
performed hits Only, Creature, Same A**hole, Son of a Sinner, Smoking Section, Fall in the Fall,
Deadman Walking and Save Me. Jelly Roll is an amazing artist and its always a pleasure to see him
perform live. He even poured a round of Jameson shots for the fans. His versatile music style has earned
him fans across many genres of music from country, hip hop, pop, rock and heavy metal. Hit after hit
and no sign of slowing down.
Finalizing the nights event was Country star Brantley Gilbert. I have to admit that country music is out of
the ordinary for me but from the moment Brantley hit the stage the energy was high, and he put on one
hell of a show. His interaction with his fans was heartwarming. He performed My Kind of Party, You
Don’t Know her Like I Do, One Hell of an Amen, Bottoms Up, Rolex on a Redneck and Jelly Roll joined
him on stage to perform My Kind of Crazy. One thing was proven at this show. You can take the girl out
of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl. It was back to my country roots, and I was
not disappointed.
