Avatar…What can I say. This band has come a long way in a short mount of time. They are one of the rising stars of the metal world, they are pushing forward and reinventing the metal scene with music that crushes your soul and melts your face. They keep pushing the envelope with new new sounds mixed with the pure metal we all grew up with…AND their new album Hunter Gatherer, out now via eOne, marked the darkest and most thought-provoking release of the band’s over decade long career. And creativity is no different on this album.

Sweden’s most creative and exciting export, AVATAR, have announced a series of concert streams —Avatar Ages – An Impossible Concert Experiencethat will take place over the course of January 2021

The first of the four shows was Saturday, January 9 – Age of Dreams (Hunter Gatherer from start to finish plus Avatars biggest songs) and was one hell of a show!! The count down to a metal for of epic proportions with the chanting of AVATAR pulsing in the background just before the band tool the virtual stage, and take up on a ride though the Avatar Ages like you have never witnessed before.

The band come out and thrashed their way through Hunter Gatherer, in it full glory from start to finish. The guys played through it like they have been playing these songs for years. The band sounded amazing and the show was electric as any other Avatar show….Even without a ‘True” audience that they could feed off of like a live show or festival. The new Black and Red attire that they wore popped off the camera and the guy looked just as bad ass as they played.

Johannes Eckerström showing off his vocal chops like only he can is a highlight of the show. But all the members really looked like they were hell bent to show the virtual audience a show to remember and were fucking just happy to be playing live music for their fans, even though a little different. It was hard to believe these guys have had such a long involuntary break from live performances, it certainly did not show in the performance at all… After blistering though the new songs…they guy has a short break and can out to show the old school fans some metal gems like… ‘Avatar Country,’ ‘Statue of  The King,’ Let it Burn,’ ‘Bloody Angel,’ Smells Like a Freak Show‘ and ‘Hail The Apocalypse‘ favorites finish off an outstanding show.

I would not hesitate on getting on board for the other show…Check out the dates and times below…
