101.1 WJRR Native Noise with Supa Dave Presents IndeBANDence Day Virtual Concert Series

Orlando Florida, July 4th, 2020 in the midst of a pandemic that has made wearing masks mandatory, social distancing a must, and the gathering of large crowds of music hungry fans feel like a thing of the past. 101.1 WJRR’s own Supa Dave teamed up with OPAV, the GDN, 8 Florida based bands and Orlando Fireworks to bring the celebration to his listeners in the safety of their own homes all while adhering to the CDC guidelines.

OPAV built 2 full scale concert stages inside of their warehouse. The show was staffed with a full production crew made up totally of volunteers. The bands, Auditory Armory, Blaine The Mono, No Self, Kash’d Out, GFM, The Dev, Mr. Bella, and FILTH took turns setting those stages on fire while interacting in real time with their fans via the Facebook Live Stream that reached an insane 29,000 viewers by the end of the 5 hour event.

The grand finale was an awesome fireworks display ensuring that even viewers from areas where those festivities had been canceled didn’t have to miss out.

IndeBANDence Day was a success and left me with only one question. Until we are all able to gather together again and watch our favorite bands shred the stage are virtual concerts the new norm?

If you missed out on the live action you can still view the show on 101.1 WJRR’s Facebook page.
