The Future by From Ashes To New

In the don't-sleep-on-this-album file, the new release from the Lancaster, PA boys will definitely warrant a listen or three, trust us.

Danny Case  (vocals), Matt Brandyberry (vocals, rap vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar, programming), Lance Dowdle  (lead guitar), and Mat Madiro (drums) make up the reconstituted line-up for alternative metal hard hitters, From Ashes To New. A lot of changes may have happened, but the music is a testament to the band’s drive to keep the journey going. Their sophomore offering, The Future, hit shelves today on Better Noise Records as the followup to the band’s first album, 2016’s Day One.

Track Listing For: The Future

The Future was written at Brandyberry’s home studio and then recorded at Atrium Audio with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of August Burns Red fame. It was then mixed by Josh Wilbur who has worked with Korn and Lamb Of God. Rumor is that a  last-minute experiment egged on by Better Noise Records, brought about “Nowhere to Run” recorded with Nick “Raz” Furlong and Colin Brittain. When you infuse hip-hop, metal, and rock in your sound, there isn’t a better way to become a collaborative album then this in the truest sense of the word.

This introspective offering is eleven tracks, which shows the range of the new focus coming from the band. There are certainly other bands that might pop up when you listen through the first time. Hollywood Undead and Papa Roach with maybe a splash of Lincoln Park thrown in for a twist of citrus definitely comes to mind. But don’t let that fool you, in that, it’s just another bland album without their own sound thrown in there. Those bands are some of the musical influences that helped to shape From Ashes To New, but the vast majority of the vibe comes from these guys in a personal way. “We went through the most extreme level of adversity that anyone can go through while creating this album, explains the band’s Matt Brandyberry. “Pretty much anything that could go wrong to slow down the process and throw you a curve ball happened, but we came out on the other side.”

From Ashes To New – My Name (Lyric Video)

Normally, we at the iGnite Northern Command, would try to break down a few songs in between shots of Cabo Wabo and fight for editorial superiority. But this record made that process a little difficult. All the songs are worth talking about. So, we figured we could keep drinking, while having you tell us what you think at either our Facebook or Twitter streams and save us the trouble. Don’t let us down!

From Ashes To New will play a few tune up shows it looks like with bands such as Shaman’s Harvest, 10 Years, and Otherwise. Then the heavy lifting starts with a co-headline tour with Bad Wolves and Diamante as support, starting in June 2018.
