A.D. 2020 released their new single “Ricochet” to all major platforms. “Ricochet”, written by Mark McNelley, Dan Reed and Todd Thanhauser, is the first single from the band’s forthcoming album Lockdown Diaries due out independently on August 10, 2021.

“Ricochet” is available to stream and download on Itunes, Amazon, Spotify and all major digital platforms and is also available for purchase at www.ad2020music.com

Tell us a little bit about the band and how long you have been together for some of our readers that may not know about the band?
We conceived the idea of the album in 2020 at the height of the pandemic as a way of collaborating with some musical friend and influences.
The songs were written with the idea that this would be a special one off album reflecting our emotions through the pandemic and also offered
as a way to spread  positive messages to everyone that was suffering.

2.            What got you into music and what keeps you going night after night playing?
I have been a musician since a very early age. My first time on stage was 6 years old singing an original song and accompanying myself on hand percussion.

Fortunately no video of that performance exists. LOL I love to play live for the fans and the event there is nothing better than rocking out with a great band and an audience that is into what you are doing.

3.            So, what is new with the band?..New Album out? New Videos?
We recently released our first single “Ricochet” from our album “Lockdown Diaries” which is due out on August 10 2021.
All information can be found at our website www.ad2020music.com
We have a video coming out on August 1 2021. It’s an at home pandemic video of us collaborating on the song “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” by the band WAR. We had a blast doing iti and the track is unique in that we all sing lead vocals sharing verses.
There are 6 people singing lead which is really cool.

4.            If you didn’t become a musician, what would you  be doing right now?
Hypothetically speaking I would like to have a job like Sir Richard Branson’s gig, he has a personal island, throws parties with lots of interesting people and travels in space.
If I couldn’t be a musician, I would like a job like that.

5.            What is the weirdest or funniest question you have ever been asked?

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you  be doing right now?  LOL

6.            If you can have your fans remember you for one thing, what would that be?
I tried to spread love and good will.

7.            On a scale of one to 2593, How good is your new single compared to your last single? (my attempt at humor, but please still answer)

8.            What do you feel is the best song you have released to date and why?
2593 considering we have only one single so far “Ricochet” by A.D.2020 which was release on June 29 2020 and is available on all major
            streaming platforms (shameless plug)

.

9.            Do you think you can get any better as a musician/singer? And if so, How would you achieve that?
Yes being a musician to me means you are forever learning. Most of my mentors are amazing musicians and they also continue to grow improve and even take
            lessons when they can.

10.          If you could give your fans one random fact about you that you think they should (or should “not” know) about you what would that be?

I could live entirely on seafood.

11.          You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

Blorange because oranges are my favorite fruit and blueberries are high in antioxidants.
If you eat the Blorange crayon it’s not only tasty but good for you.

12.          Who are you inspired by?

People spread positivity wherever they go, those are my heroes.

13.          What’s an average day like for you?

Right now we are deep in doing promo for the album so I tend to spend 3-4 hours doing interviews and also an hour or two on social media keeping up to date.
I also spend a few hours a day with A.D.2020 business and other business ventures I am involved in.
I always make family and friends a priority, so my days tend to be very full.  I like to think I am organized so that helps me to keep everything together.

14.          Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans?
I love the fans and will always take time for them. Without fan support we are nothing.

15.          Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Yes I get anxiety before every show not stage fright but more anxiety dealing with all aspects of the show, load in, sound check, performance.
I always prefer some alone time just prior to taking the stage it allows me to get where I need to be mentally to play my best. That’s not always
possible and so some shows we have to go without any alone time and those days are more stressful
.

16.          Tell me about your favorite performance venues?

Hometown venues with family and friends are some of my favorites.
I love Nashville and the people there also Columbus Ohio has always been a rocking town.

17.          What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Don’t follow me….forge your own path..its more exciting and it will be more fulfilling.
