April 3 2015- Taking Back Sunday took on a packed house at The House Of Blues in Orlando Florida. The band is out supporting their new album “Happiness Is”. Supporting band The Menzingers Helped warm the packed HOB up. Letlive did not play do to them being banned by Disney from playing at the house of blues. replacing Letlive was the Orlando punk band You Blew It! .
You Blew It! came on to the large stage and took the crowd from just standing there waiting for something to happen to jumping up and down and bobbing their heads to their punk rock sound. The announce that it was their first time playing The House Of Blues. But they did not show it, they worked the stage like it was their second home.
Next up was The Menzingers , a American punk rock band from Scranton, Pennsylvania. These guys have it all…. the songs, the aggression, the heart, and the passion that most only dream of. These guys play the kind of pure punk rock that I grew up with. They are seriously talented songwriters. They started off their set with a crowd favorite ” I dont want to be an asshole anymore” which really got the pit going. The circle got really intense with ” Irish Goodbyes” with hands and feet flinging around limbs that had no bones in them. The ended their set with ” In Remission“.
The stars of the night- Taking Back Sunday, were up as the headliner. The stage was cleared off to make plenty of room for TBS to perform with nothing but mic stands, with large lighted screens behind the band and on the drummers pedestal that was high in the air. The band came out and the lead singer Adam Lazzara worked the stage left and right to get the crowd going, with a giant grin on his face and the mic in his had, he started off the show with “Preface”. By this time, the HOB was packed to the back of the bar with people singing every word to every song they played. I’ve seen TBS all over the country, dozens of times, and they never fail to put on an incredible show. I cannot recommend seeing them enough. The song selection of this so was exceptionally wonderful. Perfect mix of the new, the classics, and the band’s favorites. The show went one with them playing some old and new song like “How I met Your Mother” and “You Got Me”. Taking Back Sunday is always an amazing show, it’s great that they are still going strong. They have not missed a beat, that is for sure !!
