Jacksonville, Florida – July 26th 2014 – There has been a lot of excitement in Jacksonville over the past few months as EverBank field has been going through with some ground breaking renovations. On July 26 it was finally time for the reveal of the worlds largest video boards, alongside some high profile entertainment as Fulham FC took on DC United in a friendly soccer match followed by a concert with country super star Carrie Underwood.
Shad Khan had a lot to celebrate this evening as his London based Fulham FC was able to get a dominating 4-0 win against their MLS competition for the night, DC United. Fulham FC, which was relegated last year from the Premier League, put on a strong performance giving hope to fans who are wishing to see the team back up in the Premier League next season. The 18 year old Frenchman, Moussa Dembele,
had an extraordinary night, scoring a hat trick and proving he deserves a starting spot on the squad once the season begins.
Fans in attendance also got to witness Jacksonville Jaguars kicker, Josh Scobee get beat by Jaguars Mascot “Jaxson” in a penalty shootout bet which took place during half time during the soccer game. Scobee’s loss resulted in him donating $500 to charity.
After the soccer game it was finally time for the much anticipated reveal of the. Mayor Alvin Brown along side Shad Khan both spoke for a few minutes mentioning the new vision and commitment which the city and the Jaguars both share. The presentation was touching and inspiring for everyone in attendance and it left the crowd with a new sense of excitement which has been lacking over the past few years in the city.
