Riding high on the success of their debut single “Sinking Under” (surpassing 80K on Spotify and 100K on YouTube in one month), Buffalo-based metalcore quartet Until I Wake return with “Self Medicated.” The track explores a more accessible rock side of the band while continuing the theme of addressing depression and addiction.
“The video portrays our frontman Cody drinking alone in a hotel room, when he passes out, his band mates try to help him,” says bassist Ryan Ridley. “He runs away from the situation, but upon reflecting in isolation he returns to the room and seeks out the friendship and comradery of his friends.”
Until I Wake only formed earlier this year, but has already caught the attention of Kerrang!, Loudwire, and a handful of large playlists. They’ve grown a vast Spotify and YouTube following, stacking thousands of streams daily since their debut, with audiences comparing them to artists such as Underoath, Asking Alexandria, and We Came As Romans.
The four piece is currently prepping their third single, expected this spring.
