Interview~ Dan Of 'Bury Tomorrow' Talks to Ignite About New Album & A new Video for "Cannibal"

Bury Tomorrow will release their sixth album Cannibal on April 3 via Music For Nations/Sony Music.

Watch the video for the title track here.

The band’s 2018 album Black Flame catapulted them into metal’s upper echelon. It was the band’s third consecutive UK Top 40 album — quite the feat for a heavy band — and took them on a tour which culminated with a huge show at London’s iconic Roundhouse. But with the follow-up, Cannibal, the band has taken another leap forward.

We had a chance to ask Daniel Winter Bates vocalist for the band a few question…check them out below!!

Tell us a little bit about the band and how long you have been together for some of our readers that may not know about the band?

We have been a band for around 11 years. This current line up around 7 years

What got you into music and what keeps you going night after night playing?

We all had such a great love for metal music and in particular metal music with melody. We love making music and providing outlets for our unbelievable fans around the world

So, what is new with the band?..New Album out? New Videos?

We have released 3 new songs 2 being singles with videos. The Grey (VIXI), Cannibal and Choke our new album is set to come out April 3rd

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you  be doing right now?

Funnily enough I was going to be a fireman or try to be all though I’m sure I would have still had something to do with music.

What is the weirdest or funniest question you have ever been asked?

That’s a hard one, just generally questions that make you think and better than the generic same old questions

If you can have your fans remember you for one thing, what would that be?

Us being real human beings and not ‘rockstars’ for caring about them over money or fame

On a scale of one to 2593, How good is your new single compared to your last single? (my attempt at humor, but please still answer)

It’s the best thing we’ve ever put out so would have to be on the top of the scale

What do you feel is the best song you have released to date and why?

I love all the new singles and songs, they really show off what we have been trying to show for many years now
Do you think you can get any better as a musician/singer? And if so, How would you achieve that?

I think there is always an obligation to try and get better otherwise you stay stagnant

If you could give your fans one random fact about you that you think they should (or should “not” know) about you what would that be?

I also work for our national health service and have done for the entire duration of this band

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

Black – because it’s best

Who are you inspired by?

Anyone that thinks, that uses their position to better things for others over themselves

What’s an average day like for you?

Like anyone else’s. Get up, brush teeth, survive and do it all again haha

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans?

We have encouraged them to interact with us, treat us as normal human beings. They are the only reason we can do this as a profession.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Not too much to be honest there are always those big shows. I just deal with normal general anxiety

Tell me about your favorite performance venues?

I think Brixton academy is up there for me. It’s a beautiful venue .

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Just have fun, enjoy yourself and make sure you do it your way.

Cannibal is stacked with glorious vocal hooks, razor-sharp riffs and sublime melodies that will solidify their seat at UK metal’s top table. It’s available for pre-order here.
