Q & A with Stitched Up Heart Vocalist Mixi!!

Stitched Up Heart release their new music video for “Warrior” today via Another Century. Check out the video HERE. “Warrior” is off the band’s forthcoming full-length album Darkness out March 13th.

We sat down with Mixi and asked her a few serious questions and a few not so serious one for fun….CHECK THEM OUT BELOW

Tell us a little bit about the band and how long you have been together for some of our readers that may not know about the band?

Stitched Up Heart was created after a musical heartbreak in 2010. After I had almost given up trying in this industry. I picked myself up off the ground and stitched up my heart.

What got you into music and what keeps you going night after night playing?

I have always sung along to every song I’ve heard. Doesn’t matter what genre, I just loved to try singing anything. Eventually, I realized how much I loved writing and performing that I really gave it my all and moved out to LA to pursue the dream. I just enjoy performing so much I wouldn’t be able to NOT do it.

So, what is new with the band?..New Album out? New Videos?

We just released a new music video for our single “Warrior”. We have a new record coming out March 2020 called DARKNESS and a tour with Sebastian Bach that starts the end of March we also have some festivals sprinkled all throughout the year!

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing right now?

I honestly have no idea. I don’t ever plan to stop doing music in some form.

What is the weirdest or funniest question you have ever been asked?

Maybe when Loudwire asked me how I would explain my music to the deaf. I told her I would show them how to throw up their horns and head bang!

If you can have your fans remember you for one thing, what would that be?

I would like people to remember me for being authentic and genuine.

On a scale of one to 2593, How good is your new single compared to your last single? (my attempt at humor, but please still answer)

I would say it’s a 2594! 😉

What do you feel is the best song your have release to date and why?

One of my favorites is “Lost” because it features Sully Erna of Godsmack. It was magical being able to do something so cool with him.

Do you think you can get any better as a musician/singer? And if so, How would you achieve that?

We can always grow and evolve. Work hard, learn more, and don’t be scared to try new things.

If you could give your fans one random fact about you that you think they should (or should “not” know) about you what would that be?

That the word hate isn’t in my vocabulary. Only love.

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

Fluorescent clear because it’s hard to explain.

Who are you inspired by?

Life in general.

What’s an average day like for you?

When I’m off tour I paint, ride my bike on the beach, foster bottle baby kittens, and volunteer at a horse rescue. On tour it’s wake up late, exercise, shower, get ready and warm up, play the show, hang with fans, go to sleep, and repeat.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans

I love the people who support our band. If it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t be able to keep doing this. So I try to give as much as I can. It’s changed over the years due to safety reasons. We used to hang out more. Now we mostly do a VIP afterparty hang at the end of the night so we can still hang out with the diehards.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Very much so. I believe if you aren’t anxious at all for a show then you’re not really that passionate about it. When I first started the anxiety performing for people was a huge battle for me to overcome. After doing it so much I kind of just switch into gear once I hit the stage.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues

I love the Shiprocked Cruise more than anything. It’s amazing being on a cruise ship with killer bands, amazing people, and playing your music!

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Work hard. Learn all you can about your craft. Find something unique about yourself that separates you from the rest and dial that in. Most of all never give up!
