Sara Evans returned to Southern California at Santa Clarita Canyon Club to perform an acoustic show for the current album "Words".
Multi –Platinum country music singer and songwriter and with awards from Billboard, the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), and a Dove Award. Sara Evans returned to Southern California June 4, 2019 at the Santa Clarita Canyon club supporting her 2018 album Words released on her Born to Fly Label.
Sara is funny on her story telling during her performances on relationships and family. Sara and her band always give fun time with good music. She will be performing to November. Additionally she is also has another music project called The Barker Family band with her daughter Olivia that released an EP.
This was an acoustic performance featuring her sister Lesley Evans Lyons (Background vocals), Ben Thompson (acoustic guitar) and her son Avery on guitar. Opening the performance with “Long Way Down” from the current album with other radio played songs such as: “A Real Fine Place To Start”, the first single from the new album “Marquee Sign”, The Judds cover of “Why Not Me”, with standing ovation for “Stronger”. Other songs performed were was the foot stomping ,hand clapping “Suds In The Bucket”, “I Could Not Ask For More” and “Born To Fly”. For the encore she explained why chose the title “Words” for her new album, saying words can lift you up and they can damage you. With the last song “Shut Up And Dance” a Walk The Moon band cover.
Opening the performance was local teenage musician /singer Savannah Burrows and her band who has opened for legendary artists such as Diamond Rio, Chris Lane, The Swon Brothers, Wilson Phillips, Carl Palmer of ELP, The Spinners, The 5th Dimension, Peter Noone of Hermans Hermits, and Al Jardine of The Beach Boys, to name a few. She is a Taylor Swift fan who influenced her to be singer and guitar player.
Performing 9 original songs such as “Rock Your World”, “Only”, “Didn’t know What Love Was”, “Polaroid’s” and “Wingman”. You can see and hear maturity of performances since she started performing. During her performance she announced that she is moving to Nashville to further her music career.
