All That Remains‘ founding member and guitarist Oli Herbert has died. The news was confirmed in a statement from the band, which you can read below. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed. Herbert was 44 years old.

We were devastated to learn that Oli Herbert, our friend, guitar player, and founding member of All That Remains, has passed away.

Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and song writer who defined Rock and Metal from the Northeast. His impact on the genres and our lives will continue indefinitely.

No further details are available at this time. The band and family request that you please respect their privacy and remember Oli by celebrating the great music he made.

Herbert has played in All That Remains since 1998, performing on all nine of the band’s studio albums. He and vocalist Phil Labonte were the band’s only remaining original members. Herbert was known for his contributions to metal and beyond for his aggressive-yet-refined style of playing.
