Apocalyptica brought their classically trained cellists to the Florida Theater performing covers of two Metallica albums last night and destroyed the audience with their awesome performance. Opening with Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets, the stage was set for hard rocking Metallica hits wounding like no other cover ever. The sounds coaxed from four cellos are hard to explain; sometimes sounding like guitars, sometimes like woodwinds, and sometimes like voices singing. Hit after hit, the group produced melodic metal rock that the audience loved. Thunderous applause, standing ovations, cries for more, more, more let Apocalyptica know how truly the fans appreciated their unique sound. After a short break, the four cellists returned to a quiet stage to play the melodic Nothing Else Matters. Adding a drummer to the sound, Apocalyptica rocked even harder to fan favorites such as Battery, Seek and Destroy and Sad But True.
It was an awesome night of amazing metal music. Thanks to Apocalyptica for treating us to their unique sound. Go check out one of their eight albums.
