In This Moment‘s Chris Howorth recently teased that a new single would likely arrive before the end of the month. And while no new song has hit radio as of yet, the band has been playing a new track in their live shows. The song is called “River of Fire” and the group has added it to their set list during shows on the “Half God Half Devil” tour.
Fans have captured video of the song during recent performances in Kansas City (seen above), Indianapolis, Philadelphia and Baltimore (all seen below). As you can hear, it’s a track that is quickly becoming a fan favorite with it’s opening tribal beat immediately yielding clap-alongs from the fans.
The band has reportedly finished their new album, but have yet to reveal specific details about the set. It is tentatively expected to arrive this summer. Howorth stated in his recent interview about the album, “It’s different and cool and I think it’s a different step for us but that I think our fans are really gonna like. Stylistically, I think we went a little bit more raw, you know — like, not so much campiness like ‘Sex Metal Barbie.’ Not that there was anything wrong with that — we’re always trying to experiment and do something different — but it’s more serious, I guess, and a little more stripped down. There’s still electronics and stuff, and it’s still In This Moment, but it’s a little more stripped down, I guess, and maybe swampy and bluesy a little bit in certain elements, but still metal, you know, still us.”
As stated, In This Moment are currently on tour. The band is playing shows with Motionless in White, Avatar and Gemini Syndrome as part of the “Half God Half Devil Tour.” They also recently booked a summer tour. See all of their scheduled shows here.
