Ignite Music New- Yärdij will be kicking off the Okeechobee Festival Friday, March 3, at 12:15pm on the HERE stage

YÄRDIJ-This female-fronted band from South Florida is bringing a fresh vibe to alternative rock. Deja Elyze (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Nick Fernandez (Lead Guitar/BackingVocals), Alex Athanasaw (Bass), Jordan Solomon (Drums) and Mike Ross (Piano) make up this 5-piece indie outfit.

“We want people to have fun with our music but also gain a sense of awareness, consciousness and good vibes all around.”

Deja Elyze’s signature vocals blend Janis Joplin with Grace Potter, while the band’s high energy performances and rhythmic grooves show influences of No Doubt, Jack White, and RHCP. Forming in 2014, Yardij’s first show as an original band was one of the last performances at Miami’s famous Tobacco Road. The young band went on to win several competitions including Hard Rock Rising’s 2015 Regional Competition as well as the DUENDE Battle of the Bands, which led to their performance at Pompano’s Mess O’ Blues Fest and then on to play Sunfest’s 2015 main stage as well as the Florida Music Festival. Their studio efforts have generated two solid alternative rock EP’s, The Blue Room and Something Along the Lines.

The momentum continues into 2017 as the band opened for multi-platinum artists Bon Jovi at BB&T Center and joined the line-up for the much-anticipated 2nd year of Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival. Yärdij just released a brand new music for their song If I Stay, from their latest EP, Something Along The Lines.
