Goo Goo Dolls storm into St. Augustine Fl. with Collective Soul & Tribe Society.

The Goo Goo Dolls storm into St. Augustine Fl. on their Summer 2016 Tour , out supporting the new album called “Boxes“,to a packed crowd at the St. Augustine Amphitheater just hours before hurricane Hermine was to make landfall on the cost of Florida .. But that wasn’t going to stop thousands of fans to pack the place to hear one of their favorite bands play along with Collective Soul and Tribe Society.

Tribe Society came out to warm the already warm and humid night at the venue..but that didn’t stop them from coming out and rocking the early concert goes that love to come in and support the opening acts. They did a stellar job interacting with the audience and the energy was high. I think they made a few hundred new fan and one right here.

Collective Soul could easily be headlining their own show, but they came on the road to I would say co- headline this one with Goo Goo Dolls, and smashed it out the park. Collective Soul is and has always been a high intensified band, and they have not slowed down on bit. They took us on a rock and roll journey though  Heavy , Gel, Better Now, Contagious, AYTA (Are You the Answer)Shine, All Our Pieces,December, Where the River Flows, and the crowd favorite ..The World I Know. They still have it after all these years, they seem to be playing like they were kids again.

The Goo Goo Dolls came out swinging to a huge roar from the stands, and go right into Over and Over , connecting with the cheering crowd instantly. John Rzeznik and Robby Takac are the faces of GGD, but they have one hell of a band behind them. The band really does bring out the best in John and Robby and this night was no exception. The band went through a catalog of hits songs one right after another like “Slide” and threw in some new songs soon to be hits along the way. Robby on bass was going insane and never stopping his high energy to take a break., Johns voice is still as good as it ever has been. John and Robby just have the perfect connections that has stood the test of time and it show on stage and feeds into the crowd.

People were standing most of the time with hands held high like they were at  a church service, and John was preaching . There were people standing on chairs and dance as they played through more hits like “Black Balloon” and another crowd fav “So Alive” that had the whole place singing. But it was the one song that everyone seem to be wanting to hear “Iris” and even John joked about it on stage that “he sees a lot of guys faces in the crowd, with the ..please play Iris so we can get the hell out of here”..Joking that some of the guys were there with their wife or girlfriend just so they can hear that song…The night winded down with an new song “Long Way Home” off the new Boxes album..The was the perfect ending song..with giant balloons being thrown out in the audience as the song started, and I think everyone was still in the venue as the show ended…which is a compliment in itself to the GGD. ..IT WAS ONE HELL OF A SHOW !

The Goo Goo Dolls puts on the show of show..They are the peoples band, with positive vibes and meaningful lyrics to all their song. They have the “IT” factor and I dont see them loosing it any time soon.
