[Album Review] One Less Reason- The Memories Uninvited – Out 8/19

One Less Reason - Band Photo - August 2016-aIf you like hard hitting full of emotion hard rock tunes, then The Memories Uninvited by One Less Reason is for you. This album is stellar through and through, every song is a hit !

The Jackson TN based band has self-released 5 albums: Everydaylife (2005); Getting Back Your Self Esteem (2006), A Lifetime Burning (2008), Faces and Four Letter Words (2010) and A Blueprint For Writhing (2012).   The band has sold over 500,000 digital downloads to date.

Produced by front-man Cris Brown and mixed by Randy Staub (Metallica, Nickelback, Motley Crue), the album revisits some of the older styles of OLR with throwbacks that could’ve easily found a place on Everydaylife or A Lifetime Burning.

“The last few years of my life, I’ve been really happy,” says Brown. “That was the reason this album took so much longer to write. I was determined I wasn’t going to crank out songs quickly, just to put the album together. If it took me five years to do it, I was going to make sure this record sounded exactly as I wanted “

One Less Reason have earned that happiness through a career defined by hustle and hard work.

As you roll through this new album, you will start to see that this is one masterfully put together album  !! The Memories Uninvited speak to you more lyrically then it does musically.

You will find if you are a past fan..that the band has mixed it up a little with Memories Uninvited . You are going to get splashes many genres, styles, and tones. Chris Browns voice comes out loud as hell when it need to be…and soft as a rock angle at time that need the softer side.

Right out of the gate ” Break Me ” sucks you in with heavy riff and Chris’s belting lyrics. It is hard not to just love that way this album just flows.

You can tell the Chris but all his heart and soul into writing this one..Like Chris said ” “I basically record my therapy sessions,” .. “I really can’t write songs when I’m super happy”. Cover_Artwork

Sometimes” is one song that sticks out and is a nice little ‘ballady’ rock song that is just one of those songs that you just want to listen to on repeat if you are having a shitty day.

Another ballad “One Day” shows off One Less Reason’s soulful, melodic side in an aching articulation of love lost, maybe for good. But Chris and the band pull it off like they were a 90’s rock band, with piano and soft guitar driven music that just takes you back to where lyrics actually meant something.

The Memories Uninvited takes you on a rock roller coaster from start to finish, but this roller coaster is going to make you want more. It has been a long time that i have hear a album that was perfect thru and thru. From the vocals to the skillful playing of the music, like in the closing track of “rainmaker”, it just wrap this album up in a nice little package and sends you off wanting more !

The band’s new album The Memories Uninvited is coming August 19th, 2016  via Tattooed Millionaire Records.   The album’s first single “Where Were You” is at radio now.

Itunes is now conducting a presale of the album:  http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-memories-uninvited/id1111285342.
