Tyler Bryant opened Friday night at the St. Augustine Amphitheater. I personally had never heard his guitar work before, either as a solo artist nor with his group Shakedown. He opened his acoustic solo set with Gonna Love You showing off some great guitar riffs and vibrato work. He performed a really good cover of Talk About Life, but his best performance was the song he wrote Poor Boy’s Dream with great vocals, hair whipping guitar riffs and sound that filled the amphitheater. He then switched guitars for his closing number with deeper, richer tones….and did he really use the wah-wah pedal on an acoustic guitar?
There is a reason Tyler Bryant was chosen to open this tour of guitar greats…he has the talent and just needs more exposure, which he is sure to garner. If Tyler Bryant is playing near you, go give him a listen…you won’t be disappointed.
