The Expendables Winter Blackout featuring Ballyhoo and Katastro

Wednesday Feb 25th 2015 I got to sit down with Raul Bianchi, The Expendables’ guitarist/keyboard player for a short one on one interview at Freebird Live in Jax Beach.

After we wrapped up the interview I went back outside and ran into some disappointed fans. Turns out the show had sold out! Much to the dismay of the those I ran into, it was great news for the bands. For a Wednesday night with the temps topping off in the 40’s really shows the dedication of their loyal fans.
Phoenix, AZ’s Katastro got the night started with their upbeat blend of rock, funk, & hip hop. They really set the tempo for a great night filled with good vibes.
Ballyhoo had no problem picking up that energy and running with it! The floor was soon filled with their fans known as the Ballyhooligans. Singing and dancing to every song.
Headliners The Expendables were set to close the night with a variety of classics and a few new songs off their latest album “Sand In The Sky”. They even threw in a cover of “I’ve Got 5 On It”. An old hip hop jam from back in 1995. And also did a mashup cover from Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, and Rebelution. A nice homage to some of the bands they’ve looked up to for years.
As I close out this concert review I would like to thank Silverback Music Management for the interview with Raul Bianchi and Raul for taking the time to sit down with me before the show. I’d also like to thank Matt Killen for recording the interview and Ignite Music Magazine for the amazing opportunity to make all this happen!
