Earth, Wind and Fire has been hailed as one of the most successful groups in the 20th century with a sound that spans musical divides and genres. Earth, Wind and Fire started a revolution with their mix of R&B and jazz in the 1970s and they haven’t looked back since. Maurice White is credited as the band’s founding member but other members have included Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson, Larry Dunn and Al McKay.
As a group, Earth, Wind and Fire have received 20 Grammy nominations, including two group wins. Maurice and Bailey have both also won solo awards during this time. The group has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Vocal Group Hall of Fame and has its very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
