Magic & Mystery, Humor & Illusion at the Florida Theatre in January, Tickets on Sale Now

Historic Jacksonville concert venue hosts “International Magicians of the Year” for one night only on January 17.
Theatre of Illusion is not your run-of-the-mill magic show, and the Spencers are not your typical magicians. The Spencers carry a lot of equipment in their 65 foot custom truck and trailer, but a rabbit and top hat are not in the inventory.
The Spencers’ production is a unique fusion of magic and illusion, humor and mystery, persona and personality.
It’s a place where artistry and theatre converge; where intellect and amazement collide; where impossibility and inspiration are inseparable. As one of the largest touring productions in the nation, Theatre of Illusion crosses the threshold of disbelief within seconds of the performers taking the stage.
Described by critics as “Modern Day Houdinis,” Kevin and Cindy Spencer star in this colossal, high-tech experience that combines drama, comedy, romance, and suspense with elaborate stage illusions, dazzling special effects, and magnificent set design. Working with some of the leading illusionists, creators, inventors, designers, and builders in the industry, this wondrous family-friendly event features many original illusions that you will not see anywhere else.
Theatre of Illusion stands in stark contrast to the traditional magic show. Spencer sees it not as a stage full of tricks used to fool people, but as a way to inspire viewers with a sense of wonder. By blending the theatrical elements of a Broadway-style production with the high energy of a rock concert, these artists take their audience on a journey to the brink of impossibility… and back again.
“We call the show Theatre of Illusion because it is a combination of our love for theatre and our passion for the art of magic. We believe that magic deserves the same respect as other art forms and, when presented in the right way, magic should move an audience intellectually and emotionally in the same way that good dance, music or theatre does,” noted Kevin Spencer.
“The show is very audience interactive- you won’t just watch, but you’ll also have the chance to participate,” explained Cindy Spencer – of the duo illusionist team.
The husband-wife team can penetrate through walls and levitate with the best of them, but they do it with world-class charisma and style, packing one of the biggest, most state of the art illusion rigs in the business. The Spencers were recently named “International Magicians of the Year,” the top honor given by the International Magicians Society, joining the ranks of Penn & Teller, David Copperfield, and Criss Angel. They have twice been named “America’s Best Entertainers.”
